  • Taste Sugar Shed products made onsite including freshly spun fairy floss, Sugar Shed (non-alcoholic) ginger beer, Sugar Shed range of relished, chutneys and sauces.  Over 18 years sample the range our Sugar Shed liqueurs produced at our onsite distillery.

Description Experience the rich heritage of sugar cane in the Mackay region with this unique paddock-to-plate-to-bottle food tourism experience at Sarina Sugar Shed. A multiple award-winning destination, recognised as a prestigious Best of Queensland Experience, you'll embark on a one-hour guided tour behind the scenes of a miniature sugar mill and boutique distillery. With an expert guide leading the way you'll learn about the history of sugar cane farming in the region and see modern methods in action. You'll also have a chance to taste freshly-crushed sugar cane juice and sample the award-winning rum and liqueur products made on-premises (age 18+ only), as well as delicious chutneys, sauces and relishes made with locally sourced produce. You can even treat the kids with non-alcoholic ginger beer, freshly-spun fairy floss and homemade Mooscoop ice cream all available in the retail store
