2026 Cairns Super Carnival

Experience Far North Queensland’s premier racing and social event — the 2026 Cairns Super Carnival — running from 21–29 August 2026 at Ladbrokes Cannon Park, Cairns.

Themed the Carnival of Colour, this 8-day festival celebrates the vibrant landscape and community of Tropical North Queensland, bringing together world-class thoroughbred racing, spectacular fashion, and unforgettable hospitality.

The Carnival kicks off with the exclusive Carnival Launch at Reef Hotel Casino on Friday 21 August, before heading trackside for three magnificent race days: Great Northern Brewing Co. Cairns Amateurs Day (Saturday 22 August), celebrating the 68th running of the historic Cairns Amateur Cup; Ladbrokes Newmarket Ladies Day (Friday 28 August), the carnival’s signature fashion and social event featuring the exclusive Ladies Long Lunch in the Silks Pavilion — an elegant banquet-style dining experience with Fashions on the Field, and live entertainment; and the showpiece Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup Day (Saturday 29 August), celebrating 115 years of Queensland racing history.

Between race weekends, the Ladbrokes Sportsman’s Luncheon & Calcutta (Thursday 27 August) delivers an unforgettable corporate experience with champion jockeys, trainers, live barrier draw, and the famous Calcutta auction — a sold-out event in 2025.
