Victorian Caravan & Camping Supershow 2026

  • Melbourne Showgrounds
  • 18-22 February 2026
  • 39,211 attendees, down from 42,749 in 2025
Drive Queensland’s new larger stand made the finals for the Supershow’s Best Stand and enabled a much better experience for the team and visitors. Our full map of Australia drew visitors in and the Ringers Western bags for brochures continue to be very popular. We are always delighted to see return visitors with one couple coming back to thank Karen Drury from Mackay Isaac Tourism for the advice she offered for their trip last year.

The first two days of the five-day show were quiet with mostly older attendees and a mix of seasoned and new travellers. The majority of inquiries were about the Savannah Way and Cape York with a few asking about 1770. Many were heading to Darwin and Broome via the Savannah Way. The Outback was very popular with questions about Birdsville and Mount Isa.

Many were looking to leave vans and take their 4WD exploring further and they were particularly appreciative of the Drive Queensland brochure showing sealed and unsealed roads.

Dinosaur destinations including Hughenden, Richmond, Winton and Muttaburra were discussed with requests for brochures on Birdsville, Betoota and Bedourie for travel to Cameron Corner. Longreach was also popular. The Birdsville Races and Mount Isa Rodeo were of interest with many people planning their trip around the Drive Queensland events calendar.

Although Cape York was the ultimate destination for many, they also planned on exploring Etty Bay, Cairns, the Atherton Tablelands and the Daintree on the way. There was additional interest in Bowen, Airlie Beach, Eungella, Mackay, Carnarvon Gorge and Yeppoon and a few inquiries about the Wellness Way.

Numbers picked up on Friday and Saturday before slowing on Sunday with wet weather which dragged down visitor numbers for the event. Quite a few of those who braved the rain were planning Southeast Queensland trips and wanting to know about Ipswich, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg as well as the usual inquiries about the Outback, Cape York and Savannah Way.

Cape York is always popular and with representatives from all over Queensland, the Drive Queensland team helped travellers to think about the many ways they can get there to experience other parts of the State.

Experienced travellers looking for hidden gems were surprised to discover how much the Capricorn Coast offered including the Byfield National Park, Capricorn Caves, Mt Morgan and the Blackdown Tableland National Park.

Kylie Rixon's daily presentation on the Outback was well received by large audiences on the peak visitor days. They learned about the Outback Lap, Matilda Way, Overlander’s Way and the Outback Camel Trail with many going to the stand afterwards to get more advice and brochures.

We had the fantastic opportunity to host Opera Singer Steve from Opera Queensland on the main stage, promoting the Festival of Outback Opera. He captivated the audience with a stirring performance of Waltzing Matilda and Toreador, leaving everyone thoroughly impressed. The performance was very well received and created a memorable highlight for festival-goers.
